Veterinary dentistry
Our practice specializes in veteriary dentistry, what does this mean?

Allmost all our pets suffer from dental disease in the course of their life. Not only does it cause pain locally, which reduces quality of life, but chronic pain affects the nervous sysem and often negatively impacts other painful conditions such as osteoarthritis. Not to mention chronic infection affecting other organs such as the kidney, heart and liver.
In this segment, we dive a little deeper into veterinary dentistry, to explain why we are so passionate about dentistry and what we do every day.

Continuous education and cooperation with other specialists
As many of our clients know, dentistry has been and still is a neglected field in veterinary medicine. Fortunately, this is changing, to the benefit of our patients oral and general health. Unfortunately though, my first dog Tara, who became a part of our family in Norway when I was ten, suffered from periodontal disease in age. It was then that I first became aware of veterinary dentistry as a real field, the importance of dental radiography. She got some help, but not the way she should have, and somehow the work I do will always be for her.

Anyway, returning to general practice in 2016, my awareness of dentistry made me unable to ignore the fact that most of the patients that were presented, often for other complains or simply for vaccinations, suffered from dental disease. I began to study dentistry, began to cooperate with emerging local specialists and specialists far away, that I met during my seminars, and have since been dedicated to the veterinary dental field. I am happy to say that in my experience the veterinary dental community is a sort of family, dedicated to share knowledge with other professionals and pet owners to help as many animals as possible.
